Before all that, though, a quote from one of my favorite artists, Frida Kahlo. I first encountered her in my mid-teens, & ever since her work & life have been teacher, refuge, & resonance.
Lately I've been reading her published diary & a biography. I was struck by this quote, which I'd not encountered before:
"We direct ourselves towards ourselves through millions of beings — stones — bird creatures — star beings — microbe beings — sources of ourselves."
Just..wow. An apt description of art. An apt description of consciousness and connection.
It's a beautiful articulation of what I believe about intuitive practices.
