some honest questions, for this new moon

Part of my process of setting intentions at the new moon is asking myself questions. Sometimes simple and straightforward, sometimes ones that push my edges. This love letter shares a couple of the latter.

And here's the thing: there are no right or wrong answers to them. They're for your own reflection. You get to answer them; you get to decide whether you like the answers. And you get to decide whether you change anything, based on them.

Here's the first honest question:

How many truly honest people are in your life?

People you are certain don't bullshit you, even when bullshit answers might be easier in the short term. People you trust to be honest, even when it's uncomfortable or inconvenient.

Like I said, no judgement on your answer.
(I mean, not everyone cares about this question, though if you're reading this I think you're probably someone who does.)

If you're feeling good, or you've already considered that question a zillion times and it's easy, here's the next honest question:

Where are the honest people?

I mean this less about geographic/physical location, and more about energetic relationship. Are the honest people in your innermost circle? Maybe some of them are social/community acquaintances, rather than intimate friends. Maybe some of them are people you've known for ages, but don't talk to very often.

Again, no judgement – there's not a right way to engage.

I'm asking for 2 reasons:

1. A lot of people don't really consider these questions. Consequently, they end up in toxic patterns of relating, whether with romantic partners, friends, colleagues, whoever.

2. Not considering this makes people vulnerable to exploitation. See: all the self-proclaimed "gurus," who without exception have been outed as guilty of financial exploitation, sexual abuse, and/or worse.
But even if you're never forfeited your money, self-worth, wellbeing, or anything else to charlatans, you might still have people in your life who are exploiting you.
They often look like friends.

So, my asking comes from care and concern, not judgement. If you're dismayed at your answers, I can relate.

At one point in my life, my answers to those questions, respectively, were 0 and nowhere.

Acknowledging those (painful, for me) answers were a huge catalyst towards changing my patterns and conditioning, as well as exploring embodiment practices.

Because the body. never. lies.

Your mind can lie. Your ego can lie. Your desires, your ambition can lie. Your deeply good and wonderful intentions can lie.

But not the body.

This is exactly why I teach and lead so many embodiment practices. (And a reason why Embodiment is one of the values of Siderealchemy.)

What I didn't know years ago, when my answers were 0 and nowhere:

The real answers were 1 and myself.

Because the body never lies. And you're always in it.

I have 2 events in March exploring the vulnerable honesty we encounter in embodiment:

Kinetic Intuition - an exploration into pendulum practice
Sunday, March 13th
This is in-person and by donation.
Register here.

Psyche & Spring - a sound journey + breathwork
Thursday, March 10th
This is online and by donation.
Register here.

Blessings to your honest answers, and to whatever intentions might spring from them.

In honesty,
S.

PS - If you missed the online version of Kinetic Intuition and would like a chance to join it, hit reply and let me know! I have some options brewing...
