titration & becoming

This is the last reminder that The Spiral starts next week. This round is for just over 2 months, until the spring equinox. All the details, with workshop dates, space agreements, and pricing tiers is here.

More importantly, though, it's some musings on titration and becoming, which are central principles not only to The Spiral, but my work in general, and more broadly, my life in all.

(If you want to skip to joining The Spiral and then read the rest of this later – just hit reply and let me know. We'll go from there.)

Titration and becoming, for me, are interrelated and also distinct. I think of titration mostly as the way that I engage—the way I "action verb" my way—in the world. With others, with external forces, as well as with myself.  Whereas becoming is the being-ness, the allowing and surrendering, that naturally accompanies titration.

I believe that the best intuitive and spirit work happens in titration and becoming. I also believe the best life is lived in titration and becoming.

That's not to say that (metaphorical) lightning bolts, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions don't also serve you. They can and do.

But they're also not sustainable.

Breakthroughs, epiphanies, recognitions often happen in a flash. But fully embodying those understandings takes time.

Which is exactly why The Spiral has no firehose of information, no bombardment in a single workshop or ritual.

In a titration pace, you have time and space for the essential integration: reflect, ask questions, experiment, answer other people's questions, reflect more, iterate.

One returning member of The Spiral explained it this way:

"The Spiral is a refreshing change of pace from the relentless news cycle. It allows me to spend time reflecting on issues and topics that are often avoided by the media or glossed over in everyday conversation. I enjoy bouncing ideas and thinking about the deeper things in life in a live environment. I am able to challenge others in a respectful way and keep an open mind when it comes to my own thoughts and views. The space has helped me be intentional with my time and energy, while leaving me fulfilled and at peace."

Titration is essential because it's easy to get hooked on breakthroughs and metaphorical lightning flashes. They are sexy and exciting, absolutely. And if you keep getting your fix from these epiphanies, you don't actually have to face the deeper opportunity to integrate and embody them.

In the new year, when people are constantly fixated on drastic changes or earthquakes of insight – I encourage you to explore titration, in whatever ways are relevant for you.

I've also mentioned repeatedly that The Spiral is a place of becoming, and I want to be explicit about what that means.

Becoming is a process without a lot of predictions. The Spiral has no guaranteed results, other than you will be altered. No universal outcomes, other than you emerging differently than you have before.

Everyone in The Spiral was changed in some way—with their own insights and illuminations. Becoming, by definition, means that you get to be YOU.

Likewise, this happened in the 2 recent workshops I taught. We discussed empathy, beliefs about intuition, relationship patterns, expressions of love, and more. In the process, we addressed toxic beliefs, personal wounds, tactics of manipulation. Definitely not all gloomy—we spent plenty of time around the potential for psychic understanding, the depths of human connection, the importance of deep self-trust. And we had plenty of moments of hilarity along the way.
(If I could share those without having to give a giant backstory to the workshop content, I would. Suffice it to say that I'm still chuckling.)

More importantly, we acknowledged all these things without shame or judgement—because becoming allows for honoring your own journey. We all left those workshops altered in our own ways.

In the words of a returning member of The Spiral:

"S. fosters an inclusive environment that's open and honest without feeling pressure to share."

No forced or performative actions, no required adherence to certain ways of thinking. This isn't the copyrighted 13 Galactic Starseed Codes(tm) that you have to download for optimal life performance. This is YOUR LIFE. As you desire, as you believe, as you choose.

I've found spaces that truly honor titration and becoming to be incredibly rare—which is exactly why I created one. I hope you find spaces that hold titration and becoming for you, so that you can hold them that much more for yourself.

The Spiral starts next week, with the first moon circle on Thursday and the first workshop on Monday the 24th. I'm not planning on a flurry of reminder emails, so please let me know if you want to join.

Titrating and becoming,
S.

13 cards for Friday the 13th! In the spirit of becoming, I chose decks that are wordless—meaning no words on the cards and no guidebooks with "official" meanings—because becoming requires us to go beyond words and logic.

I pulled from Soulcards 1 & 2 (top & bottom rows) and the Wordless Oracle, specifically for The Spiral. Several moons, circles, earths, trees, and even a watery spiral—all very appropriate.

Something I noticed as I pulled them was that every card has at least 1 person. The 13th card was the only one without any people, so I put it in the center.

If you've taken Dive Into Your Deck and Light Your Lantern, you know I think these kinds of decks are super powerful tools to hone your intuitive capacity. Both classes are available anytime for self-study. Learn more on the site.

This space is also a reminder that Siderealchemy has music channels on the site, Soundcloud, and Youtube. Enjoy!
