an occasion when I believe in going through the motions
Does anyone else feel a yank from this full moon towards the end of the year? At the start of quarantine, I thought this year would go by so slowly. And yet, the universe replied...
Another unexpected part of 2020 for me is that it's been the most intense year of my 20+ years of voting, with multiple primaries and multiple runoffs.. The stakes of the elections, the participation rates, all in the intensity of a pandemic.
The day after full moon is my 4th time to vote this year. Not, it's not *that* Georgia election.
Tomorrow's election is for the remainder of John Lewis's unexpired term, the whole entire month of it.
In other words: not much is at stake here, especially given the presidential election and the upcoming Senate elections in January.
But y'all know I've already got a voting plan.
Why?
Because democracy is one of the things worth going through the motions for.
I've always felt that way. And this year, at least one other person noticed:
Tomorrow is not a vote with giant consequences.
But it's still an election.
And for me, that means it's just as valid as any other.
Do you have any more voting in the next couple of months? I'd love to know.
Speaking of recognition, I also got a sweet review last week:
Can we all agree that "divine surprise" is such a magical way to receive insights? I'm so fortunate to be in the company of such brilliance.
And I'm always happy to help you tap into more of your own brilliance. More details + schedule links here.
Blessings, friends. Wishing you well.
In solidarity,
S.
