consent & permission ~ a conversation I'm not having on social media
Hey there,
I'm a little ahead of the usual love letter timing because I'm inviting you to a discussion + sound journey. New moon is this weekend, and this event is Monday, August 29th at 7:00pm US Eastern.
The topic: Consent & Permission.
Because I absolutely believe in consent, and I see permission as mostly useless, in the way woo that woo new agey influencers address the latter.
Not understanding the nuances around consent and permission keeps so many people playing small, not advocating for their boundaries, and accepting external projections.
Those things are easy to recognize because I used to do them. But since I've disregarded permission, life is a lot more meaningful and free.
AND I recognize that without sufficient context, seeing a white woman claim that "The permission paradigm is garbage" could give people the wrong idea. Because I believe that consent matters.
So, I've decided to have a live conversation because I think these ideas have tremendous significance. We're going to get real, face some challenging things, unearth the bliss and the magic. With time at the end to integrate—I'll play music, and you decide whether you want to journal, lie down, meditate, dance, or some combination.
For those who have been curious about The Spiral, the upcoming online membership happening in the last quarter of this year, this space is a good example of some of what we'll do together.
That said, this is not a webinar to pitch the membership. I'm holding this space because I think this is an essential conversation for EVERYONE. Consent and permission are foundational concepts in all the work that I do and all the spaces I hold. I want this to be beneficial for you, regardless of whether you're interested in The Spiral.
So, what we're NOT going to do:
~ Fight over semantics and abstract dictionary definitions.
~ Have a hard sales pitch from me about The Spiral.
~ Have pressure to "stay til the end to get special offers and discounts." Nope. No expectations, no pressure.
What we ARE gonna do:
~ Lean into language witchery, in a meaningful way. You gain wisdom that helps you move through the world, not just ungrounded concepts.
~ See how certain destructive patterns sneak into efforts towards consciousness and intuition.
~ Have time to reflect and integrate in whatever way(s) you choose.
