that liminal space between full moon & equinox

Full moon blessings, wherever you are -

We're in a potent span of days: a liminal span between full moon on Monday and equinox on Wednesday. Whenever there's a portal across a few days like this, I really love to lean into intentional and ritual spaces. I have full moon plans and equinox plans – lots of energy swirling.

But I also have spaces that are less planned.

Somehow, we humans impose so many binaries where they don't need to exist. Ritual work is not about choosing careful structure and flow OR a container for improvisation.

The answer is YES, to all of it, in whatever proportion is right for you. Lean into a lot of structure, when it suits you. Lean into more improv, when it's in your flow.

(Drop the binaries along the way.)

And if you're unsure of what's best suited to you in the moment, I encourage you to experiment. There are not ritual gods who will smite you. Make a plan, or not.

There are also plenty of external resources: classes, podcasts, and so on. I've taken plenty of classes and workshops over the years. Some practices I still follow pretty closely. Others have been adapted to me, with no regards to matching how other people practice.

If you want an experiential example of my improv-style spaces, my final donation workshop is this Tuesday, at 8:00pm US Eastern.

I've spent the past 2 Tuesdays in workshop spaces that I outlined, leading conversations that I prepped. It's been delightful, and I'm glad that the reviews agree: rewardingthought-provokingintelligentfruitfulintuitiveinviting.

For the workshop in this liminal time, I thought it would be fitting to flip the script. Quite literally, as in there is no lesson plan for Unfiltered AMA (ask me anything).

This was actually inspired by a small gathering last year, when physical distancing inspired me to think of a way for a small group to have an open, safe space for deep conversation. I thought about using one of those conversation-prompt decks, but then decided to simply trust who was there. I know better than to plan every space I hold.

And it was really magical! We ended up talking about bliss and shame and adventure and connection and so much more.

For this workshop, I'm planning enough to create a safe and brave space, but then releasing my control. I'm surrendering to the people whose ideas and questions will direct the workshop.

But if you want suggestions:
~ Ask me to pull a card. These on-the-spot readings can pack more potency than you might think.
~ Random stories from my very random life – see some examples here.
~ Why "dive" is such a frequent metaphor in Siderealchemy offerings. (There's a very specific reason.)
~ How many mummies I've seen in person, so to speak.
~ Why a musician who's a terrible artist—seriously, my stick figures are embarrassing—has such strong resonance with tarot and oracle decks. (Hint: it has to do with being a synesthete.)

Because I want people to have plenty of space to share or ask questions, I am capping attendance for this one. So if you really want to be there, I encourage you to register soon. By donation, open to everyone.

Also -
Registration is still open for Dive Into Your Deck and Light Your Lantern, the 2 immersive weekends of learning an art-centered, intuitive foundation to tarot and oracle practice.

If you're wondering whether those classes have both structured and improv spaces – yes, they absolutely do. All the details on the Siderealchemy site.

Whatever your plans or lack thereof, may you feel illuminated in love this week.

In sunlight & moonlight,
