advice I abide by
In my most recent love letter, I shared about how I find business to be the opposite of impersonal and unemotional. That's also what's useful about calling these efforts "soul projects" — an intimate, personal name for what springs from deep love and devotion.
That love letter got me thinking about some advice that I actually like:
"Start before you're ready."
Lots of fancy coaches say that, and I agree.
Though, not surprisingly, I phrase it a bit differently. Because "before you're ready" implies that you are ready, sometimes.
And sometimes that's true. But even good advice can make you spin your wheels unnecessarily. You can get pulled into a vortex of second-guessing and overanalyzing your readiness or lack thereof.
Which is why, for me, "being ready" feels like an unrealistic expectation that's not worth my time.
Ergo, I don't think about it.
This is what I tell myself:
Start where you are.
Your ego is not ready. (Your ego will never be ready.)
Your soul, though, is ALWAYS ready.
And the universe—by definition—has always BEEN ready.
So whatever you have that's not getting the love or attention or devotion it needs because you aren't ready —
Start where you are. If you want to know more about how Soul Projects can help you, check out the PS.
See you at the start,
S.
PS - Soul Projects is for people who recognize that you don't need to be ready or have a certain amount of clarity. You don't need to have a certain amount of research or knowledge. The purpose of this class is to create a soul-aligned process to learn and iterate and expand.
